downloading through bitttorrent

who said i wanted to download illegal medium? i know that i sure didn't. not to be a jerk, but there's people who are interested in this stuff, could you please open the thread back up? as i said just downloading software to use bittorrent systems IS NOT illegal, so why do you guys care?

The talk about downloading movies was what locked the thread, bittorrent itself isn't illegal.

If you want to carry on the discussion, make a new thread, and don't mention downloading feature films/music/any copyright material.

okay so then can anyone help me download things, nothing in specific, through a bittorrent client? i have a site but i cannot make anything get to my media player, don't know what i'm missing. (i think i have a client, i guess i'll try a different one)

I think bittorrent depends a lot on how many other people have the file as well (obviously). What are you trying to download?

I use bit torrent to download live concerts on some forum.

did you actually download the file? maybe its an ISO or something that requires you to burn to a DVD or use a virtual drive. i downloaded a 5 show Mars Volta video that required to be burned

basically i went to suprnova.org, chose a video file, clicked it, and the screen it brought me to had this weird text. it didn't seem like that text is something that needed to be converted though because it took like two seconds to go to that page, probably not nearly long enough to dl a long video file

heres what you do

download the program "burst" (should come up on a google search)

then, when your on suprnova or torrentreactor, right click the file you want to download, save as to your desktop (or, i have a file named "torrents) and it will save a file to your desktop. then, right click the saved file on your desktop, choose "BURST" and start the transfer of whatever non-illegal program your downloading. good luck

well do i still need to do that if i downloaded torrent storm? it actually allowed me to 'download' a file last night. it took about 8 hours, and now i have a file on my computer, but whenever i try to open it, it closes the media program i was using (i tried winamp and windows media player). what gives?

hmm, not familiar with the program your using. im no expert on this at all, a friend showed me how to set it up, and i just told you to do what i saw him do.

your beyond my computer knowledge....try the guys in the computer forum.

that's where i thought i downloaded amovie from, but it doesn't work, just closes whatever media program i use to open it
