i have read that the sr20det doesnt pass smog with the facotry 240 exhaust, so should i try to get a very restrictive system, or just go to some ghetto smog place and slp the guy a benjamin

SR20 fails visual regardless of exaust. You could shove a potato into your Cat and it would still fail.

Couldn't you just weld a cat on? Wouldn't that help?

Any motor can be made to pass smog testing. The sr20 just won't pass the visual testing because it was never offered in the 240's here in the US, therefore making it illegal.

we dont have visual testing in ohio besides the cat check.

sr20 passes everything FINE. the only thing it wont pass is NO. you have to check to see if your state checks for NO and if they do, hook up a safc and dump it rich (yes, you read it right, RICH) +30% all across and you will indeed pass. i know because i did it. when you run it rich, it lowers the NO vastly to the point that it should pass by a few points. i ran +25%, but i only passed by .004 point so i suggest you up it higher

I live in california by the way emissions req. are something important luck florida how much is gas over there??? its like 2.30 over here

There is a BP right behind my house (only get my gas there ) and for the most expensive gas it was like $2.14. Well last time I gased up.
