So you want to paint it to make it look new??? Why not just clean the radiator? Painting it, I am pretty sure, will make it overheat. You will be cloging the fins up

Re: NEEDS HELP RE: PAINTING MY RADIATOR"

True, true. My thing is if its working with no problems, why mess around with it just because it LOOKS dirty???

Do it and let us know how it turns out. If you say radiators are expensive then why are you trying to play around with yours??

Re: NEEDS HELP RE: PAINTING MY RADIATOR"

If you really want to try to clean it you could try pressure washing it to get all the bugs and other dead animals out of your fins.

Painting the end tanks is fine, painting the fins will effect cooling dramaticly sence radiators use such small fins. You can paint innercoolers without effecting temps. If you want it to look new go and buy a bottle of something like Tarn-X it will make the copper and brass look new and take away the green color and other nasty stuffs.

Painting the whole radiator is fine. I asked my cooling and a/c teacher and he said its fine , but dont put a bunch of coats on it. I did it and its been working absolutely fine since i did it probly 5 months ago. Looks good too
