Speedometer

I know I shouldn't run the engine this hard, but......

1st gear 35mph @ 7000rpm
2nd gear 63mph @ 7000rpm
3rd gear 90mph @ 7000rpm

JDM D15B, Factory transmission, 5speed LX sedan

Are these numbers right?

Re: Speedometer

Wait so, you have a jdm d15b vtec motor that makes 130ish HP? And what tranny? Is the tranny the same as the one that comes out of the HF? Cause my HF used to hit into the 60's in 2nd gear. And what is the point to knowing this info?

Re: Speedometer

The motor isn't VTEC, and I remembered it only hitting 80~ before, was wondering if the speedo was off since the new motor was put in

V-K, because you put in a v-tec, you can rev higher which means you can go farther in each gear now.

well, you said the motor was a JDM d15b, that is why everyone is thinking it is a VTEC motor, and those speeds look prety accurate to me

Re: Speedometer

It is a D15B, it is NOT a VTEC engine :P

The reason I'm asking, is because with the old engine, 7000rpm = 80mph, after the new motor was put in, 7000rpm now = 90mph.

Only difference is the new engine origionally was carbed

D15B = 16V 1.5l Carb
D15B2 = 16V 1.5l FI

Re: Speedometer

^^^ Thank you lxdreamer, that exactly what I wanted to know. This gives me reason to believe there is something wrong with the speedometer/cable.
