drive axl's ????????HELP

Hello, I have a 91 buick regal. I was changing the drive axl's on both sides. Well....has anyone done this and can give me some secrets, beside take it to a garage, LOL. I have the drive axl in, just have a problem compressing spring to put everything together. Any suggestions would be great! Even a suggestion as for i don't have to take suspension apart.

thanks
mike

I assume that if you have the new drive axles in, you mean they are installed in the transmission side but not in the wheel side. You must have separated the lower ball joint to remove the old ones, but when I did this to my 91 regal I had to unbolt the stabalzer bar from the control arm to allow installation of the new axle. You don't compress the spring, but with a pry bar push the control arm down to reconnect the ball joint. I would suggest that you purchase a Haynes manual for this family of Buicks if you plan to do much more of the mechancial work yourself. Well worth the investement.
