96 neon

i was wandering i have found a 96 neon 4 dr sport 4 cyl. 2.0 dohc 47500 miles from a older lady for 1800 dollars everytghing fine but battery brakes and instru. cluster its been sitting for about 3 yrs she bought for duaghter new daughter left after the 47500 miles and they let it set i was wandering if it is a good deal and i pulled out cluster plugs are bad like soldering part now everything works but speedometer maybe still be in back but the lady said it worked fine before parking it let me know anything guys thanks

Sounds like a good deal to me...should be awhile before the head gasket goes hopefully. If everythings nice, ex. the paint, tires, wheels, and theres no rust...you got a damn good deal.

ok got dash out again how hard is it to solder or whatever the prongs on back of plugs they are all cracked .... i have never done it before should i take it somewhere or what

Just get a new cluster if it is the prongs in the back of the cluster that are cracked. If that's the case you should go ahead and get one with a tach while you're at it. 1800 is a little steap for a 96 though. Blue book price is only around 6 or 700. Talk her down to a grand. That would be a good deal.

ok thanks for the info i thing i am going to resolder it first its just the solder thats cracked you know i looked up the blue book it said 2830 $$ for 47500 miles probally would never get it but i will try to get her lower we'll see thanks though

You must have found a high blue book. I would not pay any more than 1500 for a 96. Espically one that has been sitting for 3 years. 3 years of sitting will dry rot a lot of hoses........
