97 to 99 caravan

Are the 97 and 99 parts, pretty much the same, ie. interchangable ?
Can I put 97 engine and transmission into a 99 ?

Hombre, your question is a little too general, but for the most part, since 96-00 Caravans are the same generation, there is a high level of interchangability.

If the donor van and the transplant van are otherwise identical, say, both 3.3 litre V-6s with 4 speed electronic overdrive, you probably are in luck.

Your best bet is probably to check www.car-part.com for the transplant vehicle's engine. If the donor year and engine type comes up in the search results, that is an excellent indication that it will swap in without too much trouble. If that looks good, I would recommend checking with the service department at your local Dodge Boys.

Good luck! Carl
