Question Hopefully this is cool...

Hi there. I am not sure if this is the forum I should post this in because I don't have a Honda/Acura. But, I do have a car that I have moded myself and would like to find some other girls that I can chill with and talk cars or whatever.
I am relatively new to the forums ... When I first posted I was in the street racing forum and guess maybe that I stepped on some toes.
Anyway, it lead me here and so I thought I would say hi and see where it goes!! So...HI!!

Yeah...guess so!! Sweet!! Well, I guess I will ask a question and see if anyone can ease my mind right now!! Have any of you taken your car to the track? I am in the novice group because it is my first time but I can't go to sleep ... I think I am going to have a nervous breakdown. LOL!! My friend races BMW's and he is in the expert group...so he gave me lessons but I have never been on this track!!
I know I am very new hear so I am sorry to come in here and talk about myself...I promise I won't stay that way...but I could use some tips. (if you have them I will be greatful)
Thanks a bunch!!

A girl in an EVO8, WOWZERS!

I can't say track officially, but I DO auto-X with my Civic. I hope to take it to a road course track sometime, but it's outta my budget right now. FVrom what I hear, track is really awesome. Auto-X is way fun too, you should try that out sometime if you can. The VO is a great car for that kind of racing.

Re: Hopefully this is cool...

best advice, calm down, lol, if youre shaking too much to hold the wheel, move the shifter, or press the gas, your not gonna go very fast just focus on the track, not the other cars, dont make eye contact with em either, keep it unemotional if possible, and just make everything a checklist, until you get to the end of the track, see you kicked ass, then do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight... get down tonight

Re: Hopefully this is cool...

oh and dont apologize about talkin about yourself, its what the forum is here for, and when you see someone who is asking something you can help out with, you can throw your two cents in, its all gravy.

Is that a bad thing? My mom sure hates the fact that I have it and my husband thinks I am crazy too. You should have seen his face when I told him I was going to mod it out!! (it was priceless)I love the car though, It is amazing!

Anyways, thanks a lot for responding. I calmed down a lot after some advice and reading some racing tips last night that some guys gave me in the street racing forum. Then today, I rode w/ a friend from the BMW club who is in the expert group. His car is crazy fast!! OMG!! Then he rode w/ me and after scaring the living hell out of me by grabbing the wheel and stuff to show me where my lines were on the corners, I felt like I was ready to go. I still didn't have my lines down but I am sure it will come w/ time!!

The second heat was way better and I am now hooked. I loved it so much the energy was amazing. Going and watching at the track is always fun but racing is a ball game of its own!! WOW!! I am still amazed!!

I posted some pics from today on my picture page at the following link. They are not just of my car but also some of the other cars that were there. If you like WRX's you should look at the one I have posted. It was so nice!! Made me want to buy a body kit!

Anyway...thanks for your great welcome!! I will definately contribute to as much as I can. Looking forward to some new friendships!! Take it easy!!

All you got to do is punch it and pray ( Ok maybe you have to shift once in awhile) . Racing is all about nerves and knowing your car. I could take 89IROC's car down the track but I garuntee that he would turn a faster time than me, and he could take my car down the track and he would not turn a faster time than I could. If you want to do good, just take some time to get to know your car.

Re: Hopefully this is cool...

I would like to say hello first off and then I would like to ask what made you go into racing? I think girl racers are great, there should be more of them.
