Question act clutch adj.

How do you adjust the clutch pedal (place where the clutch will catch).
I have the 2100 ACT. Also I have 70,000 miles on it. I don't go to the track or abuse it, does it need replacing? The car has about 300 horses. Also I have not changed the flywheel yet, (150,000 miles on it). One last question, can the clutch be adjusted? I tend to grind gears shifting in reverse and sometime getting into first is a bitch when the weather is warm. Sorry for all the questions but any feed back is helpful.

Yeh, thanks for the reply, bostonjoe98gs but I got as far as unlocking the lock nut but I was unable to move anything else. What actually has to be moved? Would you also know which way (what ever has to be moved) it has to be moved? Towards the firewall or away if I want the clutch to catch a little higher? btw I have a 95gst. Thanks.

Re: act clutch adj.

If you want the pedal higher, you want to turn that rod so you are making it longer. Be careful though, if you go too far, the master cylinder will not be able to release the pressure and the system will "pump up" putting constant pressure on the thrust bearing, which is obviously bad. So dont use it to cover up an improperly setup clutch. You should have cut the flywheel step to .610 inches when you installed it. Having the wrong step height can really hose the engagement point. And if I'm thinking correctly, a worn flywheel will lower the engagement point, since you'll need more travel to disengage it. But its past my betime. Read the page on www.taboospeedshop.com for better instructions than I have time to give. Good luck.
