Arizona

Is it just me or is arizona completly left out of all mustang activities seriously? Yea they have drags in Pheonix but i mean Arizona is the perfect plan to get a project car because of no moisture its hitting 108 degrees outside today and that aint nothing yet they are expecting 115 possibly but back to the subject i mean is there any arizonans in here?

Re: Arizona

Sorry, i'm not from Arizona, but i do have a question, actually two. First, i heard that there is no law saying how dark your window tint has to be, is this true or complete BS? Second, does Arizona have emission laws, anotherwards do you have to get your car inspected every year, or at all?

I am in AZ (Cave Creek just north of Phoenix). Yup it is a damn hot one out there today! Window tint is only allowed to 30% visability on the driver side and fronth passenger window. Cops want to be able to see you thus it's law. Many go darker and have no problem, but if you get caught the police will key scratch the tint and give you a ticket. It happend to a friend of mine. As far as emmissions we need to run cats and vehicles are inspected every 2 years on newer cars and every year on older (not sure where the cutoff is). Pre 1974 no cats needed. The vehicle also needs to pass the tail pipe sniffer to ensure it within strict standards. I once ran a very hot stroker and siliconed emmission equipment on under the hood and welded up empty cats. I had to dyno the engine and retard the timing back so far it could barely run. It passed. If there is a will there is a way!

I forgot that inspection is only required in metro areas and surronding areas. So if you live in Why, AZ by the Mexican border your okay.

Re: Arizona

oh ok, do you know or have you heard of any state where the tint can be as dark as you want? I live in WY now and there are no emission laws so that is a plus, but i am looking for somewhere to register my car so my tint will be legal as well as my emissions.

I don't know about other states but AZ is 30% and CA does not allow any tint at all.

Re: Arizona

I think you can have window tint as dark as you want in Florida I'm not sure though I live in GA. Here its like 32% on the driver and passenger front glass and as dark as you want on the back.

I went to UTI. It absolutely sucked. I waisted a ton of money and a year of my life there. I would think very seriously about UTI before you make the move. They advertise it to be something great, but wait till you get there. It is nowhere near what they say it is. Those recruiters they have are full of shit too. If you go, dont go with very high expectations of the place! I heard Whyo Tech was great though. Alot of ppl that could, quite UTI to go to WT.

Now I know that just because I had a bad experience there doesnt mean everyone will. But out of everyone I talked to there before I quite I would say maybe 4 out of 10 people where atleast satisfied. Dont go unless you are a book worm who has never turned a wrench. I was replacing clutches and changing tires on my go-kart when I was about 7 lol.
