David Cothern Jr.
Hey what do think would be a better motar for both acceleration and top end with a positive traction rear axel with I beleive is a 3.12 gear ratio? A 454 Chevrolet 1-ton Pick up Big Block or a 1984 Camaro 350 motor?
Let me know what you think about it at dk-enterprises.com |

Re: David Cothern Jr.
454, while heavier, has to ability to get a much better torque curve, for good power throughout the rpm range. however, the 350 has so many aftermarket parts for it, and is lighter, so it depends on what you want to do with it. daily driver? 350. drag/track car? 454

454 parts or costly but pay off in the long run built a 495 hp 468bb for about $3,200 you can get the rpm's up in the 8,000 with out a bit of strain on the engine while your mild built 350 you average a good 5,000 rpm range before rpm drag.
ran my 75 chevy 468 against 56 chevy 350 s/c i won by 1.26 seconds Although heavier and more costly the 454 would not be a disappointment |
