The exclusive BRABUS tuning program for the Mercedes SL

BRABUS offers the largest selection of engine tunings for Mercedes automobiles in the world. For the new SL 500 there are no less than three stages of performance tuning.

The top-of-the-line 6.1-liter version delivers 426 hp / 313 kW at just 5,400 rpm, and produces a gigantic maximum torque of 621 Nm at 4,100 rpm. With this engine the roadster accelerates in 5.4 seconds to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 296 km/h.

In order to emphasize the sporty lines of the new Mercedes SL even more the BRABUS designers developed an exciting aerodynamics kit. Just as important for a customized appearance are one-piece and multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels which can be mounted on the new roadster in three different designs in 18-, 19- and 20-inch diameter.

Pretty nice, wouldn't you guys say?

you sure those are accurate stats for the brabus? not 4.4 secs instead of 5.4? i cant see how brabus can get less hp than AMG using a bigger engine, if it is the case then i bet brabus will be adding more to their range, probably something pushing 7 litres

Brabus had already created an even faster version. Based on the SL55AMG it produced 550bhp from the same engine and brings 0-60 time to 4.2secs and 212mph top speed.

Hmm the 7.3 litre can be found in the previous SL. It'll be great if they put it in the latest SL but it will make it damn heavy.

Im sure Igor's figures are incorrect. 426 bhp for a Brabus is tame.

Im certain they'll put the 7l+ engines in the new SL

A little heads-up:

That is the tuning program for the SL500. This is the specs of their modified SL55 :

Quote:
SL 55 there is offered the BRABUS K8 performance tuning stage. Instead of standard 476 hp / 350 kW the engine now develops 550 hp / 405 kW at 6,200 rpm. Even more gigantic is the maximum torque of 780 Nm at just 3,000 rpm. After the power treatment the roadster races to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, passes 200 km/h after exactly 13.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed 300 km/h.
