New Italeri Re-Releases

Just to inform you classic and rally lovers out there that Italeri will re-release the Fiat 131 Rally, a former Esci mold which looks supergood. The livery will be the allitalia one, and it ll feature engine detail.

here is a link to the built up model

Also, they have been so friendly to rerelease the Alfa Romeo Giulietta spyder, which is a nice subject overall, but I cannot really say anything about the content of the box, but as it being an old protar mold, will not be as good as the 131 rally car, but prolly not unbuildable.

might not look superb on this pic, but there s a lot of potential in that car.

I m pretty sure the european model companies will bring out more rereleases, but to be sure , there s only one thing to do, just click this link and let your voice and choice be heard.

If anybody has some info on these cars, please advise.

Re: New Italeri Re-Releases

That Fiat does indeed look nice, but I thought Esci kits weren't very good?

I have that Protar kit of Alfa, all I can say that this is rare kit of one beautifull car, opening hoods and doors are big thumbs up, chrom parts are bit to thick so sanding is must do. Fitment is not to bad, it has relativly litlle parts but if you really try it could come out one very rare and beautifull model.
Oh and it has engine, thou the chasis is very porlly made.
By the way they relesed Ducati Desmosedici in 1/9

Fiat 131 Rally, yeeehaaaaw I love to see the old rally classics in 1:24 and 131 is really one of The Classic Rally Cars. I'm sure some aftermarket decals will follow (hopefully for the flat black & yellow Markku Alen car atleast).

Any idea when these are coming?

They are scheduled in the second quarter of 2004 , which is about ... now???

Prolly as with italeri releases Europe will be served first for once
As for the Protar Delta, it s pushed forward to the third quarter.

Ah well, I sure hope aftermarket decals are coming out, something not recurrent with italeri? dunno why?

Cheers

Hmm, drop the 131 down on some Campagnalos or deep-dish Minilites and paint it Fly Yellow.

Damnit. I just bought an AMT 1966 Fairlane today. Why can't I stop?

Re: New Italeri Re-Releases

I had the ESCI Lancia Stratos rallye car and it was neither good or bad. Little detail and nothing much to do, the overall impression was that it looked like the real thing with no major problems in the apperance.

Re: New Italeri Re-Releases

Sorry for dig up old topic.. Just noticed Stratos at Nimpex.de That's Safari-version, did Esci have Safari Stratos? Or has Italeri added some stuff for that model? I hope to see Cartograf decals like in Fiat 131

Esci had Stratos with model number 3059 but that was "normal" Pirelli-version.

Re: New Italeri Re-Releases

It's an Esci Stratos and it's horrible (apart from the decals, but ...). I've looked at the kit and the detail is poor and the molding is even more so. I wouldn't waste money or time on it.
