Power loss.....Clutch slipping?

Hey guys.... i feel like im losin power in 1st gear... when your clutch slips.. you get high rpms and not enough speed right? Well can someone compare with me here?
When i get up to 15 mph in 1st gear.... the rpm's hit just about 2.8 or 2800 rpms.

Does that seem normal for a 3.8?

Also... could it be my air filter ? i need to get the k&n soon
How do i know when my car needs a tune-up? i just got it and im not sure if it neds one or not.

Re: Power loss.....Clutch slipping?

Try going from a 5-10mph roll then depress the accelerator really quicky. If the rpm's spike but the speed does not (provided the tires don't spin) then it's your clutch.

If that's not the case, it could be that your ignition is messed and not producing enough power. Check you fuel pump, spark plugs, etc.
