Sunfire GT 2.4L?

Hi, I have a 1997 sunfire gt with a 2.4L and I was wondering if a 2.4L from a Grand Am is the same motor or are they different.

Re: Sunfire GT 2.4L?

I'm not positive, but i'm almost certain that they are the same motor. I've been told that the sunfire motor is 155hp stock, but everything i've ever seen on the net says that it is 150hp. That's the only difference that I can think of. My girlfriend has a 97 Grand Am with the 2.4 and it looks to be the same as my 96 sunfire with a 2.4

They are the same. They are LD9 motors. I have a friend with a Grand Am. Our motors sound alike, and we run the same. Only diff. is that one car is heavier than the other.
