need help with the 60 degree and 90 degree engines.

Okay.....

I don't have alot of money to spend so I would like to make the most of what I got. I would like to have a very quick, daily driven, dragster/autoXer.

I am not to familiar with the 60 and 90 degree engine family.

Do all the 60 degree engine parts interchange? What about the 90 degree engines?

What would be my easiest/cheapest way to get 300hp/300tq at the crank?

Which is the best for a fiero swap?

60 degree pushrod V6's include:
2.8L 2bbl (early 80's)
2.8L MFI (mid 80's-optional engine for 85-88 Fieros)
3.1L MFI (late 80's)
3100 SFI <aka 3.1 L generation 2> (mid 90's)
3400 SFI (late 90's)

* 3100 and 3400 SFI engines have roller lifters, the 3400 also has needle bearing rockers. Both have aluminum oil pans and timing covers with intergrated water pumnp housings. The heads are aluminum and have splayed valves for better flow. The 3400 has a beefier water pump. Thease parts can be retrofitted to any 60 degree pushrod v6.

* Any 60 degree V6 with EFI can be changed over to a 2 or 4 barrel carb. Coil packs can be changed back to a distributor. Edelbrock makes the required intakes (2 piece system) And Mallory makes several distributors to fit. This eliminates the need for computer controls. The cam, crank and knock sensor holes need to be plugged off. This makes the engine simple to tune and wire up but isn't emmisions legal except in states where older vehicles registered as "hobbiest" "hot rod" etc are exempt from such tests.

*Any 60 degree v6 can be put into a 85-88 Fiero with little effort. If using a fuel injected engine you must aquire the right wiring harness and ECM. Don't use 3100/3400 ECMs and harnesses from cars with automatic transmissions as they will act mental if not connected to a 4T60-E computer controlled transmission.

90 degree v6's include the 3.8L/3800 and can be installed in Fieros but not as easily as a 60 degree v6. They can be run with fuel injection or fitted with a carb and distributor.

Cheapest, easiest way to build a 300hp fiero that can be used as a daily driver? well, here's one idea -
1. aquire a 3400 SFI v6 from your friendly local salvage yard.
2. aquire the intake manifold(with fuel injectors, fuek rail and sensors, too) from a 2.8L MFI v6, also from said salvage yard.
3. aquire the ecm and engine wiring harness from any 85-88 Fiero that has or had a v6 also from pre-mentioned salvage yard.
4. (optional but fun) by now the people at the salvage yard will think you are crazy, so pay them, roll your eyes, laugh in an evil way, mutter something about dark voodo magic and world domination, then leave with above items.

5. Remove SFI intake manifold, attached fuel rail and sensors from 3400. Throw it away,sell it on ebay, use it as a doorstop, whatever.

6. Take cylinder heads from 3400 and intake from 2.8L to local machine shop, ask that they be ported as much as possible.

7. install heads and intake, place engine in fiero, oil pan side down.

8. aquire any needed mounts or brackets for engine from fiero at local salvage yard. repete step 4 if desired.

9. install wiring harness and ecm. if plugs do not match with crank, cam, or knock sensors on the 3400, remove the offending
sensor and replace it with one from a 2.8L

10. Fiero should now have over 200hp at the crank

11. install no2 system to boost HP over 300 for drag strip, when funds allow such.

12. (recommended) replace original rear springs and struts with the heavier type used on v6 fieros to prevent eventual spring sag and improve handling.

13. (required) Go out and make fun of honda people's 6" exhaust tips.

is a v8 with a 5spd more expensive then what you said?

Would it be more efficient as far as gas goes if I had a v6 or v8 with 6spd?

Are the pontiac fiero and the toyota mr2 the same, I mean as in rwd and mid engine? The fiero is the better choice right? because of cheap parts and availability?
