No Instrument Cluster Lights

I got in my 98 Grand Prix GT last night and started it up and no lights on the instrument cluster. Fiddled with all the switches and still nothing. The next day checked out the fuses and couldn't find any problems. Is there a fuse I missed somewhere other than by the glove box and under the hood? It sucks driving without the instrument lights on. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: No Instrument Cluster Lights

on my 95 i think there is a fuse panel in the door jam, in the front part of the door, like on the dash...i might be confusing it with something else but im pretty sure that's the gp...also there usually is a fuse panel under the driver's side of the dash, but for some reason i dont think there is on there on gp's cuz i dont recall seeing one on mine...well, hope i helped...

Re: No Instrument Cluster Lights

i blew my cluter light(s) fuse before with aftermarket foglights... I dont know why it just decided to go but anyways there is a fuse under the hood i had to replace its a little guy and I want to say it was a 10 or 15 amp fuse. so check it out thats how i got mine to work again.

Do you know if it was the parking LP fuse or the Dimmable Interior Light fuse?

thank you in advance for your response

Re: No Instrument Cluster Lights

i bought a 97 brand new and had electircal problems from day 1. i would loose ALL my lights except 1 fog light...i'm talking drl/headlights/dash/tail/brake/signal....EVERYTHING....and let me tell you...loosing your headlights on the freeway going 70-80mph is NO fun!!!
it took the dealer months to figure it out because everytime i took it back to them the damn lights were working!!! i drove 30 miles back to the dealer one time just to have the lights come back on as i turned into the lot!! they could never get the lights to fail when they had the car. but as luck would have it....i went to pick it up one day and the lights were not working...they found a bad connection in the fuse box somewhere. they "fixed" it but the lights still would flicker from time to time after that. that car was nothing but problems.....4 heater fans...and a mess of other things with the transmission and engine....even the paint was messed up but they couldn't "see" the flaw in the paint. I should have bought the 96 gp they had on the showroom floor that day....that car is long gone and now i do own a 96 gp!!!

Re: No Instrument Cluster Lights

The dimmer pot for the dash lights could be bad. Or possible a ignition switch problem?
