92 cherokee cruise control

my 92 cherokee 4.0L 2WD automatic has cruise control that doesn't work at all. I have checked the fuses and vacuum hoses and everything seems in order. I get absolutely no response from the system. A junkyard owner looked at my car and said that I was missing the module that sits on the drivers side near the firewall. I do have a connector over there with nothing hooked to it, could this be the problem. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of their cruise control system for a 92 Cherokee that I can look at to make sure that I have all the pieces. Any other ideas?
