stock stereo question

'98 tahoe...
behind the stereo on-off/volume knob there is a fader (for lack of a better word) for "SCV". all it says is "SCV" i have no idea what it is or what it does. if anybody knows please let me know...it's driving me nuts... thanks in advance.

Not sure what the SCV stands for, Speed Control Volume maybe? But I know that it turns up your volume automatically depending on how fast your driving. The higher you have the SCV set, the louder your stereo will get as you drive faster.

maintainin76 hit it dead on, it is Speed Controll Volume. It auto maticly adjusts the volume for road noise.
