Re: Radar jammers?

BEL and Escort, mostly - others have shortcomings in jamming some models...

Re: Radar jammers?

though be wary, true radar "jammers", which actually jam the cops radar, are illegal in (i think) every state here in the US. I have heard of one legal method, which works like this:

The radar "jammer" you buy doesnt really block police radar, it just confuses it. for example, youre going 70 in a 45 zone, and wham theres a cop with the gun. What the "jammer" does is send the radar multiple readings within milliseconds of each other; it will send (i think) 4 readings, ranging from 10mph to 300mph. since the police radar takes a short burst to accuratly measure your speed, it cant process these 4 drastically different readings, thereby confusing it.

Re: Radar jammers?

and don't forget you can still get pulled over for visually confirmed excessive speed... IMO a good detector and a wary eye is a better (and cheaper) approach than relying on a jammer (that may or may not jam)...

yep, PLEASE don't think a radar jammer will give you a license to speed - you're best defense is being alert. If you see people putting on their brake lights as they go over the crest of a hill or around a corner, don't be suprised to find a cop on the other side.
