95 Delco Bose question

Is it posible to get a new head unit and keep the stock speakers i heard you cant and you can but you would have to do a amp bypass and lose function of the stock sub on the back.

Re: 95 Delco Bose question

its actually a mid range speaker that was in the back of the car, where the t-tops are stored. and the answer to the question is that you do need a converter to tie the aftermarket head unit into the factory bose amps. the problem with that is one carries the damn converter, they all have to order it and the thing costs like 30 bucks.

when i was looking into my stereo system i emailed bose for the specs on the factory amps. with the newer head units you get more RMS power out of the cd player than the factory amps put out. so basically you could get the head unit and screw the amps and you will prolly end up with more sound than if you bought the converter like i did...can someone say buyer's remorse??

Re: 95 Delco Bose question

That is exactly hat they did for me, I had my friend's shop put my deck in and they order this "adapter" as they called it for $30. It was a normal harness to go from aftermarket deck to GM, just with a box in the middle.
