Cheater NOS ??? Safe?

Came across this on Ebay while surfing on google looking for apexi AFCs. (Don't ask me how it went there...)

Is it a legit technology? As in a real NOS that works, or is it like those speed mod chip scam that sends you a few resistors? Would this thing damage the engin in anyway in the long run?

Any information provided would be great. Desperate to speed up my car on a VERY limited budget...

hmmm looks extremely shady actually, extremely is an understatment. My friend had a bicycle pump that looked a lot like that except he put CO2 in it instead of N2O. Then the tube that comes with it would be easy to find too. It seems to me that they took a bunch of non auto parts and put it together into a dangerous, N2O application, You can buy little cartriges of n2o like that from whipping cream stores. The biggest problem i sense is that the system adds no extra fuel to your engine. And you cant really make more power without more fuel. That system is bottom line ghetto,unsafe, and unpracticle, using what is shown in the picture I dont beleive you would see any real gains in power, not to mention if u were spraying something like that and something went wrong, there is no way to stop it til it runs out. Because that "trigger device" punctures the cartrige and it wont stop until its empty. dear god. Always you get what u pay for, but in this case they should be paying u money for all the damage their system will cause.

Looks like CO2 tanks painted blue! And I have that "trigger system"... its a CO2 Tire Pump! You wouldn't get 30+ hp. You would probably lose 30 horses because your injecting non-combustable CO2 into your engine?

And I dissagree with you 1gspot about it being released all at once. When you screw it in it punctures the canister and then you use the trigger to release the CO2

I think I'm going to email the seller and mess with him. I will report back!

As for that cheater nitrus, I agree with all of you above. It looked fishy to me but I was desperate enough to go for it, that's why I wanted some professional opinion. Thanks for the advice and glad I posted here.

I'm among the ranks of poor college students with only $1k for car mod. I don't want drastic face lift nor internal surgery. I just want a simple 30-50 hp upgrade. I used to drive a v6, now downgraded to a 4 cyl and feels like I live in a slow-mo world...

The thing that gets me most is that he gets really good feedback reviews... wtf? I have seen a few of them say the kit "doesn't work" but it looks like people leave feedback without even trying it first.

1g can get you a fair amount of parts if you look for em. go on ebay and you can get some good deals. just check out what your buying first.

Most ppl on ebay leave feedback soon as they received item, thanking the fast shipping. THEN by the time the item is used and found unsatisfactory, it's too late... I think I've washed my hand of that 'cheater' kit. Don't feel like paying $60 for something I used to use back in high shool with those wood CO2 cars.

So far from reading in here, and some other places, I understand a complete kit requires the turbo, waste gate, intercooler, turbo header, blow off valve. Then the other misc gauges, vavles, hoses...

Problem is a complete kit costs so much more, and I've seen stuff on ebay selling parts here and there, and I can definatly get most of them around $600-$800 total. But my car is only a F22B2 engin, and so far, all I see is ppl recommend an engin swap off that engin first before going turbo... I just don't have the dough for that, and I'm afraid turboing that to hastely would not make my car go zoom-zoom but go boom-boom.

Well man if your really a metal head, you can convert it to v-tec by yourself and might have enough money left over for a really small and cheap turbocharger.

My plan is, if I can afford an engine swap, I'd get a different car first, something lighter and 2 doors. But as for my current car, just using it as a lab rat and carefully mod it to learn the steps in modding a car well and modding it safe.
Not something that acclerates like a space shuttle and ends up in a twisted heap of burning metal w/ me in the middle.
