Unhappy Ac Delco Loc! Help!

I have an AC Delco radio that is on Loc. I've read that I can get the code by first pressing the 2 and 3 presets at the same time for about 10 seconds and it will give me the first part of a code that i need, but the code isn't coming up! I've seen two different sets of instructions for different cars, so are these instructions right for my 91 grand prix? Could the buttons be broken? If so, is there anything I can do short of paying $60 for the dealer to unlock it? Any help is greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Re: Ac Delco Loc! Help!

no
thats how you start it for entering the code , then youll need to know the code to unlock it. Its free from a gm dealer to get that code , your car = your code so if they try to charge you for it tell them they cant cus your entitled to that ifnormation free. It only takes them 5 minutes to phone for your code all they need is your VIN number. Remember not to let them charge you for it , best thing to do is go to the dealer you baught the car from and get them to search it.

Re: Ac Delco Loc! Help!

Mark I am sorry to disagree with you ! No this information is not free, the dealer has to pay for this service. Some dealers if you puirchased the car at that dealer will do the unlock for free but most charge 30 minutes of labor for this.

And when was the last time you seen a dealer do something for free! Everything has a price either cash or something else.

BTW Delco theft lock radios weren't installed in 91 cars. If you are not sure if you have a delco lock radio installed look at the radio faceplate it will have a flashing red light and the words "Theftlock" on the radio face.
