1990 prelude Sr problems
Hi i got a 1990 honda prelude SR and i am having a few problems with it and am hoping you can help well first off as soon as i start the car the check engine light comes on and after i have been driving the car a while it will start to idle at 2000 rpm, and is the fan supposed to come on when you are driving the car becasue mine only comes on when the car is shut off for about 10-15 minutes.

My temp gaouge doesnt go up but i dont know if the fan is supposed to come one while driving because it doesnt and it will idle at 200 rpm for a while then i gotta turn the car off and let the fan run and it will be fine i was thinking maybe the timing belt or something.

sure its an SR and not an SI?
its time to take it to a shop either way. have them check the thermostat, the cooling system, the timing belt (like you though) well, on second thught, just have them check the whole thing. it should only cost around 20 bucks for them to tell you whats wrong, and then you can decide if you can fix it or not.
