NEEDS HELP RE: "VTEC INDICATOR LIGHT"
i'm just a honda newbie...anyway, i have this problem regarding the "VTEC INDICATOR LIGHT" i tried doing it in my brothers 97 civic vti (SOHC VTEC) i tapped the possitive wire to the green with yellow stripe wire in the solenoid and the indicator worked.my problem is the indicator lights at 3200 RPM compared to what i read, VTEC kicks at 5500 RPM.My brothers SOHC is stock and he does't have a VTEC controller.need help...

I think that the 97 has the multi stage vtec (I dont know what it is called) so if it does it may really be kicking in at 3200. Not sure I may be out in left field.

5400rpm is for DOHC VTEC engines - usually the B16A.
SOHCs are a mild varient and they come in a lot earlier. VTEC controllers are a rice-boi mod on a stock motor - it just fucks your performance up, not improves it. |
