1988 nissan sentra sputtering and stalling

I have a 1988 nissan sentra 2 door base model manual tran. and it sputters and stalls in the rain lately, the more rain the more problem. It has been at the mechanic for 6 days now and they are so not knowing what's wrong and the bill is going up as they keep diagnosing. Does anyone have this car and or know how to resolve this problem this is the second time I have brought it to be fixed and still no one has a clue, does anyone here have a clue for me??? The car doesn't have 100,000 miles yet only about 85,000.

Get a new car!! You'll spend more $$ repairing the old one than making the payments on a new one... I know i had 1990 maxima gxe with 6700 miles on it and it was always something wrong with it so i got pissed and bought sentra se-r specV...
