Transmission

I have a 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan and the problem I'm having is that I have to wait for the van to warm up before it will move once it warm the transmission works fine after it is drive for a while. At first it does not want to get out of first gear and it downshift as it warm up but when its at normal operation temp it no problem what so ever. Have any idea.

Re: Transmission

This happened to me with my 98 GC Sport, and eventually the transmission went out. It costed $2200 to have it rebuilt. I had 130K on it. If I were you I'd take that thing to a reputable transmission shop and have them check it out. Maybe there is something they can do before catastraphic failure.

Re: Transmission

If the tranny has never beeen rebuilt then it may have defective low/rev seals. Or maybe converter drainback. Sometimes the oldschool solenoid pak will do this too.
