|
check engine HELP!
its a 98 z28 with a 02 ls1, the check engine light is on since the engine harness doens't match up. i was thinking about getting a 02 engine harness but someone told me that it wouldn't help, what can i do to make this engine work with the car? a

its should work... im not to familar with the newer harneses but it should work... are you sure theres not something wrong with the motor itself, have you tryed running a scanner on it??

i think the difference is the 98's had a egr system and the 02's don't. i scanned it, but i forgot what code it was, i think it had something to do with the egr.

You could consider a custom chip?? I think You can get the EGR system removed from your factory prom

you could prolly just run a google search and find all kinds of companies that will reprogram the ecu. you might even want to try contacting like JET or someone and ask them if they will do it for you as like a one time thing. you'd be surprised what people will do for you when you're willing to pay for it...

Theres a guy here that was gonna burn the VATS out of my ecu for $150cdn.. I thought that was really cheap..
