looking for video: 350Z vs. E46 M3

I'm trying to educate a 350Z owner with delusions of grandeur. He's trying to convince me it's a drivers race in the 1/4 mile between an '03 350Z and an '03 BMW M3. Anybody know of a good race video (preferrably stock vs. stock...or close to it) of a 350Z vs the newer model E46 M3? It's tough to argue with video footage. Thanks.

Re: looking for video: 350Z vs. E46 M3

Bwahaahahahaahah. That isn't even a close race. I'm sure most 350Z owners know that. One car runs 13's flat and the other runs 14's flat. That's a very big difference. Heck having a car that traps 4-5 mph faster is actually phenomenal in a roll race. I doubt there will be any vids of that. I raced a 350Z in my former LS1 and I gave him a car and a half head start. I left that guy by buslengths, and the M3 is suppose to be faster then the LS1 F bodies.

Ya...I know the E46 M3 is much much faster. Believe me...I found that out first hand when my car was stock. I just need to squash this clown's ego. His opinion of his 350Z falls somewhere between Jesus and Budduh and nobody in his own forum has even seen fit to keep him honest. I coulda sworn I've seen a video of a new M3 hitting high 12's on drag radials. They are in an entirely different class of car.

BTW...how's the EVO treating you? Have you been able to fight off the mod bug? I know for $400 you can get an ECU flash that will give you a good 30hp-40hp. Sorry...I'm, not helping.

I have the vid of the e46 m3 running a 12.497 thats very very very close to stock.. dammit.. I forgot the name of the driver... oh well, but I don't know how to post it or host it so ya...

Perhaps your friend is confused with the e36 m3 vs. the 350z??

In case he is not, he just has that 350z ego that a lot of people have right now(just like the WRX ego when they first came out).

You hit the nail on the head...and no, he clarified it was the E46, not the E36, that would be a "driver's race" with a stock 350Z.

The 350Z is a beautifull car, but it's definately not the end all of imported performance...not even close. I could think of about 3 or 4 other cars off the top of my head (imports and domestic) I'd rather have for the same price based on my knowledge of their ups and downs...including the EVO, STi, and SVT Cobra.

Any idea where you found that M3 video? No worries if not. Maybe I'll just bug the Bimmer guys. Those rich bastards should be able to afford plenty of bandwidth for hosting videos.

I already have a dynoflashed ecu, hks hiper catback exhaust, and a K&N panel filter. I can't drive my evo though, cause the stupid stock clutch is fried. Now if lancershop could tell me when the new clutch is coming i'd be amazed.

Sounds like those AWD launches are more addictive than cocaine, eh? Good to hear you're having fun with that EVO. How's the aftermarket? I know there's a guy named Shivno (sp?) up here in NorCal with a dyno shop that specializes in EVO tunes and parts. I saw some of his cars in SCC magazine last month.

And no, I am not one of those BMW drivin' bastards that afford bandwith. I found it in the kill stories forum of www.bimmerforums.com .

Ooops...ya it's Vishnu.

hey 2000LS1Z28...how'd you rate the exhaust work you've done with the butt dyno? I'm gonna do a full 3" turbo back this summer...o2 housing, downpipe, highflow cat, etc.
