Rear AC works fine via both fan controllers. Dash temp adjustment works fine.
When front fan is turned on, AC compressor (and dash indicator) go off. If temp is turned to MAX, AC and indicator kicks off. If recirculate is seleted, AC and indicator kicks off. Also, air routing selector does not operate correctly. If front fan turned on, no air from dash vents, only floor. Seems the plenum valve isn't closing as it needs to . The only way to get any cold air to the front seat is to turn AC on, recirculate off, dash or dash/floor selected and fan speed to off. This allows the flow-through ventilation to draw air across working cooling coils... HELP, summer in North Texas is fast approacing! Thanks Travis |

Re: Front AC blower flakey
I'm not going to be much help but my 1999 Tahoe is doing the same thing. When the a/c is on MAX - the air quits blowing out the vents and sounds like it's just all behind the dash. There is a switch/circuit type board that costs about $135 at the dealership and this should fix the problem. I wish I could tell you what the correct name was but I just don't know.
