97 s-10 bearing replacement

Anybody have any info on replacing the bearings(rod and mains) on a 97 s-10 4 dr., 4 wheel drive. Is the job worth the time or is it better to just look into a replacement engine.

Yep, it's a 4.3. Motor is tight, doesn't burn any oil, tranny and rear end are all in good shape. It has about 168,000 miles on it. The costs of the bearings are minimal vs. the time involved(especially just removing the iol pan) and should a guy be concerned about possibly having a ring break on the carbon ridge after the new rings are installed?

time consuming, but it can be done, and u have to take the ridge off with a ridge reamer or ur pistons wont even come out (easily)
