My mommy drives an 03 corolla(same thing as 04) and i drive it to the local street races when my cars in the shop. And that little 1.8 can suprise me. To answer your question somewhat. My brother just bought a 04 civic 4 door(1.7) for his first family car. And i can tell you by driving them(both autos) that the corolla is faster and handles better. Plus you can get a big decal that says ROLLA on your windshild.
P.s. My mom wont let me put one of those on her car
