help! need computer code!

today my 97 accord threw a P1456 from the computer. i cant find these codes anywhere. autozone said its a dealer specific code. got anything?

i'll give you the simplest answer to this. Evap System leak detected.

check the following:
Faulty fuel filter cap
proper vacuum connections
fuel tank leak
EVAP control canister vent valve malfunction
" " circuit malfunction
EVAP purge control solenoid valve malfunction
" " circuit malfunction
EVAP bypass solenoid valve malfunction
" " circuit malfunction
Fuel tank pressure sensor malfunction
" " circuit malfunction
EVAP control canister malfunction

cool, thanks. i talked to the dealer and he said it was the gas cap being loose. tighten and drive 2 - 20 mile cycles. if that doesnt fix it, how could i test for the other things you said it could be?

to test rest of problem (if they exist) you can take your car to dealer and have them to figure out the problem, or you buy service manual and do it yourself.
service manual should be this one, it's $40 on ebay

yeah, i just wrote what the computer told me. i'd just take it to a dealer. screw dropping a gas tank. crush your dang ribs? no thanks.

Why would you want to remove gas tank?


All components that need to be tested (if need to be) don’t located in gas tank.
Gas tank has only fuel pump and fuel level sending unit, which can be tested without removing tank, they even can be replaced without removing gas tank.
