Unhappy All of a sudden loss if power.

First off the vehicle info. its a 97' grand caravan, 3.3L engine, with a 106k miles. After we bought the car,(97,000 miles) we noticed a problem with the turn signals ( not working speraticly) and the wind shield wipers would go on for no reason. Also noticed the interior lights as well as the shift indicator light and the radio light would come on and off, and you would hear a clicking sound in back of the dash.

The main problem we have encountered is, upon driving to normal operating temperture, vehicle acts as if its has run out of gas, followed by loss of power. During loss of power the engine still runs. We will pull over, after restarting the engine it will make a popping sound and misfire. We will let vehicle cool for 20 min. to a hour, and vehicle will drive smoothly until it reaches operating temperture. Out of 15 times this has happened it has set an engine code 2 times( P300 & P306). We have replaced all spark plugs and ignition wires with factory recomended parts.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Re: All of a sudden loss if power.

Probably a good injector cleaning and possibly proffesional "combustion service" will clear up this running problem for you, but I wouldn't rule out a fuel pump, pump relay or ASD relay, either.

The turn signal problem is probably the combo switch, or BCM (body control module)

The wiper problem is common to all these vans, and are better left "tolerated" than fixed.

The "clicking" sound sounds like a connection problem or Body control module.

The problems sound somewhat unrelated, except for possibly the BCM.

Hope I helped you,

Slantsixness
