Actually, the 300c is a Chrysler car. Dodge is replacing the Intrepid with the Charger which won't be out until around 2006 or later.

i dunno if they will use the Charger for nascar, unless they completely change their body templates. From what i've heard i don't think the Charger's body style will be...well, aerodynamic enough. But i hope they can make it look good either way. And the 6.1L had BETTER be true, without a doubt, 100% in production.

The body really has nothing to do with nascar. Look at a stock monte carlo and then look at nascar's version. The front end looks a little like it the rest of the car looks pretty much like the other manufactures cars.

My dad was telling me the new charger will replace it and you were saying that it isnt aerodynamic enough, have you seen pictures of it at all? that thing looks like it can cut through the air better than a hot knife through butter.

Re: What is Dodge going to replace the Intrepid with?

Doesn't NASCAR have a production/sales minimum to be eligible to race? If the Intrepid isn't going to be produced for '05, then wouldn't that jeopordize Dodge's NASCAR standing, or is there a loophole?

Re: What is Dodge going to replace the Intrepid with?

The pic you show is of the 1999 concept Charger R/T, it may not be the replacement. Dodge is being great about keeping the style under cover! There is a artist rendering using the Magnum and current styleing cues but this is a best guess. The car has been planned for early 2005 summer release, but I heard it has now been moved to Feb or March!! It will be after the autoshow release. Rumor is it will have a SRT-8 model with the new 6.1 hemi!! 425hp

Re: What is Dodge going to replace the Intrepid with?

I would like to see the Charger come out, that would be sweet. They produced a concept car of it a couple years ago, it had the 4.7 (before the engine came out) ran off of CNG and was supercharged! (CNG meaning compressed natural gas) I'm thinking they will use pump gas on the production car...it's a little more avliable

Another interesting note, the old school daytona's (IE charger with diff grill and wing) had a lower drag coefficiency than the 1st generation Viper. I thought that was neat.
