I'm considering a colored matched hard tonneau lid for my 2003 Double-Cab but I know there are several on the market.
Any recommendations of one over another? Snuglid vs. Gaylord vs. A.R.E. vs. LEER....etc. Thanks for any credible info... |

Re: Hard Tonneau Lid for a double-Cab?
I have tried to get feedback as well. I guess everyone here drives BONE stock Tacomas. If you find one through me an e-mail, I am looking for one aswell..

Re: Hard Tonneau Lid for a double-Cab?
just bought an ARE cap for my 01 TAC, regular cab, best 680 bucks I ever spent... locks with hydrolics, very nice design which flows with the contour of the Tacoma hood... good luck

Update
Thanks Postcoke2, I also ended up with the A.R.E. LSII for my Double-Cab, Liner, Remote lock and the dealer threw in the battery lid light.
The dealer had several different brands to compare with and in addition to the style lines on the LSII the A.R.E. has the strongest looking locking system made with steel rods. Other brands I looked at with the center lock setup had either wires or PLASTIC wires used for their locking system. |

Re: Hard Tonneau Lid for a double-Cab?
How hard is it to take the tonneau lid off your truck. I currently have a "Leer" full size top on my 98 v6 extended cab. I can get it off and on by myself, with a little work, but would love something a little lighter. Have to pull, jerk, and lean the camper top to get it back on the truck.
Thanks

Re: Hard Tonneau Lid for a double-Cab?
I have not tried removing my A.R.E. LSII yet however when I was shopping around I had 2 different dealers tell me that the LEER tonneau was one of the more difficult lids to remove.
