Any ways to read OBD II code without a reader?
My 98 Camry's "check engine light" recently came on, so I was wondering if there is ways to get the OBD II code without using a reading tool.

The above posted thread is apparently for a 94, which allows for checking the codes without a reader, which you can do up through the 95 year.
I believe you'll need a reader for yours. If there's an Auto Zone around you see if they'll read it for free. Sometimes they do. Otherwise, buy a scanner or have a mechanic check it for you. |

I stand corrected. Sorry for the misinformation.

Auto Zone will usually read these for free, but you need a scanner.
