What a night!

i was out cruisin earlier tonight in my lude and my friend notices all of the lights on the dash getting dim. i looked at my speedomter and it was at zero! the car accelerated fine. i pulled over and turned off the car (i shouldn't of) and tryed to start it again hoping that my speedometer would start working. it wouldn't start! so me and my friend called someone to get the battery jumped. we jumped it and the car started!
i got all excited thinking that i would make it home. well, i accelerated for about an inch then the car died again! it turns out that my alternator was no good. i sat there all by myself cause my friends had to get home. my dad came and didn't want to call a tow truck cause my car was lowered 2.5 inches with a body kit and they would just tear it all up. my dad matched his front bumper with my rear and just pushed me home slowly. now my rear bumper's paint is all chipped off from my dad's license plate! me and my lude got home safely and now she is in the garage sleeping. now i have to get a new alternator amd repaint my rear bumper. oh well, shit happens right?!

just thought i'd post this so that if one of you guys experience this you'll have a bit of idea on what's wrong with your lude or any car.

How long have you had the pulleys, cause I've had mine for around a month or so now with no problems. Also, how many miles on the car? Hopefully it's just a bad alternator, cause I don't want pulley problems.

Re: What a night!

are you running a lot of electronics? large systems, tv's, or power inverters? all that stuff can take it's toll on an alternator, slowly.

Good, I'm glad you solved your problem. Not only for your sake, but also so I don't really have anything to worry about with mine anymore. (not trying to sound selfish ) Wonder how it got unplugged?

Re: What a night!

haha, that shouldnt be happening, a paint job on a bumper isnt gonna be more than 150 bucks though, that shouldnt set your engine MODS back to much

Re: What a night!

yea...paint jobs are expensive...very expensive. a body shop wanted to charge me $200 to repaint my front bumper

good thing i didn't do it tho...cuz two weeks later i was kissed by an explorer and ended up with a new bumper, hood, headlights, fender.
