1995 gran prix leaks coolant

Our 1995 gran prix leaks coolant badly. The mechanic can find no sign of any leak; the hoses are all fine. It smells like coolant inside the car.
We put in a gallon of coolant every two weeks. What could be the problem?

has your mechanic checked your heater core? usually when you can smell coolant inside the car its the heater core. try looking under the rug under the dash to see if you notice any coolant. if there is you should change your core right away.

Coolant leaks

I have to agree, the coolant has to be going somewhere. If there is no sign of leak in the engine compartment, and if it is not being combusted inside the engine, then the only other place left would be inside the vehicle from the heater core. A sweet smell from the vents is a good indication of that, as well as sometimes there will be a slippery film on the inside of the windshield near the defrost vents.
