This Is What I Need....

i have several junk diecasts just laying around and spare time inbetween customizing a diecast i have for a contest. so what i need from you guys is ideas on what you would like to see made into tutorials. i know forsure, i am going to be doing a convertable tutorial. so what i need is input on what everyone else wants for tutorials (chop tops, headlight/taillight conversions, front end swaps, etc...) so give me some ideas on what you want to be seen done

Exhaust is wicked easy, just buy some small pipe (can be found in any model shop) and chop it to size. Just steal mufflers from other cars or the original exhaust.

how bout a tutorial for tricking out the hood... like instead of it opening the standard way like most cars, getting it converted to open to the front like on a Corvette

I covered pretty much all cars when talking about dubs in my tutorial. I just finished putting some dubs on an Autoart GS400

Re: This Is What I Need....

Heres the hardest tutorial:

"How to make your diecast look cool by not ghettoizing it and putting on 'DUBS' and Gucci"

And I am not kidding either...seems like the only customizations are, Dubs, dubs, dubs, dubs, and dubs; or Gucci, Gucci, Gucci, and Gucci.

For once I agree.

I would love to see somebody set a new standard for customizing a car without using big tires. But since this is what people are doing now to thier 1:1s, it seems damn near impossible. The only other option is to 'rice' it out which some manufacturers are doing now.

Hell, the only thing I can do now is redo the interior and maybe lower it a bit. I can't find anything else to do with it...

Hey Mike, when are you going to do the paint tutorial?

Well it seems the people who don't like to put dubs or or Gucci on their cars have no skills since they're not posting anything. I guess you need to show them how its done.

The depressing thing is that there really isn't much you can do to a car now without being accused of making it ghetto (if its any kind of truck) or ricey (almost any car). When I talk to my friends their definitions of ricey features stretch to russia. Can anyone name a mod that isn't covered by the large definitions of those two styles?

Just look at what has been posted above. I could call putting odd hinges on your car ghetto (all the people with suicide doors) or ricey (all the people with butterfly doors). Spoilers, that could be pretty ricey with all those giant aluminum wings. Fart Can Exhaust anyone? Hood scoops? I've seen my share of civics with scoops for nothing.

You're all really just gonna have to accept the idea that everything done to cars these days that is edgey or different can probably be called by one of these terms.

Well put Gafoto. People will do what they want to their models, and if
that means putting large rims and Gucci in every single one then so be
it. If it's killing you so much why dont you make a model without
"Ghettoizing<- the f*ck?" it.

Plus i think it's the cars everyone seems to be modding too, which are
mostly Suv's (Escalades, Hummers, etc.).. Mercedes. Rims and interior
are the most common mods for those sorts of cars. Your not going to
put a blower on a Escalade are you? or monster truck tires on a benz.

I mean all it seems like whats done is just new rims, and then left at that. No new paint, no exterior mods, no nothing.

The paint tut will be up as soon as I get more paint...

So are you calling me skillfully challenged? Look at my signature...I do post things, mainly in the model forum. I'd love to have some die cast hot rods but they are just so hard to find.

Basically my point is, is that it seems like every single model on here has DUB's, and nothing further. I would like to see some modifications that require more skill, maybe a body kit. Yes, body kits can be classified as ricey but at least it requires some more effort.
