push the little red button on the computer....you might not find it at first. you might need a magnifine glass to see it.

wrong section... and just to be helpful all you need to do is reverse the polarity of your battery. i.e. put positive cable on negative post and negative cable on positive post.

shit i'm just kidding i can't be mean DO NOT LISTEN TO ME!!!

Re: resetting your ECU?

Tank's right. Unplug your battery, turn your lights on, and pump your brake til there is no more current left in your system. If you want to be really proper leave it overnight with the lights on. In the morning reconnect your battery.

What he said

Either that or take it out, bash it with a hammer and put it back in. You never know what your car'll do, IT'S LIKE A SURPRISE WITH EVerY BLOW TO THE ECU

Re: resetting your ECU?

The easiest way is just attach a jumper lead to the positive terminal of your battery and the other end to any exposed metal on the ECU.

Yep. Depends on why you want to reset it though, if you just need to clear the codes, unhooking the "-" and pushing the brake works. (Done this a great many times on my old Cefiro, hoping it would tell me what caused it to randomly stall for no apprent reason - eventually tracked it down by pure trial and error to a tiny oxidized electrical contact).

If you have a flashy ECU which "learns" as you drive and you want to clear the values stored in it then its better to leave it overnight. Unfortunately trheres no "obvious" way to tell if the values have cleared though.
