Some info on a shift kit?
I have just ordered a shift kit for my 94 s 10 ss and a kid at school trashed the idea because it was a colum shifter. He figured that the shift kit only shortened the shift when I manually shifted my automatic tranie, I never even thought of this. So what is the deal? I figured that it shoiuld shorten both shifts. some1 please clear this up for me and correct me where I am wrong. thx

There are a few things a shift kit can or will do. It doesnt matter where your shifter is.
If you have a street/strip kit you should feel a good improvement when it shifts. Harder and more firm. |

Re: Some info on a shift kit?
yeah, a shift kit for an automatic is nothin more than some springs and valves and a new seperator plate and valve body gaskets, so yes ur friend doesnt know the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground, it makes ur tranny shift firmer and depending on how u set it up, at higher rpms, and there are a few more variable affects a shift kit can have depending on which one u got

Re: Some info on a shift kit?
I havent got the kit yet I just ordered it from Lordco. It is a B&M shift kit. They quoted it for like $30 CND. But I think it retails for like $50 or $60, nice to have access to a high spending account.
