Big Al's Sketch book

I am just going to post my sketches in one thread.
I plan on doing a sketch every day for a year.
Anyone want to join.

I do not plan on going into the details of the car.
These will be more like rendering concept sketches.
My goal is to get good at form and accuracy of the lines themselves.

This will be my first one. The size is big just in case anyone wants to joing in.

More picts. of the diablo GTR can be found at
http://www.fast-autos.net just incase you need more detail.
Don't forget to check the wallpaper link

My GTR ref. will print out at 10in in width.

I personally think the back rim is too big so I will decrease mine.

Yup you guys are right.
One drawing every 2-3 days I guess.
I don't think I do that either.

What was I thinking, too zealous I guess.

Re: Big Al's Sketch book

I'm in but I think we should try to remember the true nature of "sketch" It doesn't have to be finished. It doesn't have to even look like a car. It doesn't have to be one car on one sheet. Sometimes I'll scribble over a sheet front and back, overlapping cars with thick line sketches of nacho cheese.

It's the practice and conditioning. You learn a lot about yourself as well as the cars. It's cool on many levels.

I'm doin 20 minutes a night...maybe a little more.

p.s. Put dates on your sheets. Scan them and put them up here, but put your sketches away or don't look at those pages for like 3 months. You'll be shocked at your progress.

thats sound like a good idea. hey, you have to practice for sports, music, and everything else...what made think that drawing wouldn't require practice. im leavin' this friday for a huge vacation (lots of time on a plane). i will try to draw/sketch a lot then....maybe even a couple times a day.

Here we go, Sketch number #5.
360 to go.

I really like this one.
I call it "seven attack".
Reminds me of a Tie Fighter swooping in to kill an X-Wing.

I am learning to like drawing again.
Wow I think that is starting to look like art.

Re: Big Al's Sketch book

looks awsome
I really like it! And I hate the RX-7! Only thing is that the body looks kinda squished height wise. MY friend is obsessed with 7s, so I have to study every detail and aspect of it or get my ass kicked. Lol...
