A few problems with my 94 Passat VR6

I am havin a problem with my 94 Passat GLX VR6. As I'm drivin it will jerk from time to time and if feels as if I'm bein rear-ended. It happens at all different speeds and when it happens it only occurs for about a minute or so then it goes away for a while. Any idea what might be the problem?

Also I'm hearing a squeakin kinda noise comin from my front right wheel. This was there when I first got the car and it seemed to stop whenever I pressed the brakes. Since then I have had the brake pads replaced and it stopped for about a day but its back again. The only thing is now my brakes squeak a little whenever I press them lightly but stop once I press them hard. Any Ideas??

Also the most annoying problem I have is that my rear view mirror was broken so I bought a replacement and I cant get the damn thing on. Its suppose to just twist on but I cant get it. I got the rear view off of a 90 passat so I think its supposed to be the right one. Any tips on how to get this thing on.

P.S. The car has 142,000 miles and its automatic. I dont know when the last time the oil was changed and if its had a tune-up so I'm gettin those done. Do you think this will affect the jerking?

Forget this problem

Also the gears dont seem to be switchin as smoothly as they did before.(Only had the car for 2 weeks) It seems like it takes forever to switch out of second and I think the strain on the engine is causin the temperature to get high.

front wheel squeak

i don't know if you figured it out yet, but my front wheel was squeaking and banging too and it turned out to be the abs sensor on the wheel. it was torn up and was scraping. easy fix but was hard to detect when the brakes were changed too since most places don't check it. hope that helps

I thought I fixed the rear view mirror problem but I was wrong. I got my windshield replaced and I have about 3 rear view mirrors and they dont fit. I think I missing a piece this is supposed to connect to the mirror then twist into the windshield. I think its a little metal piece. Does anyone know anything about this and If you do where can I get this piece???

And thanks for the brakes info. I'm gonna go get that checked and see if it fixes the problem. I just got 95 Maxima so once I get all these kinks worked out with the passat I'll be selling it?
