Unhappy Heater Problem - Resistor for Blower motor overheating

Hello, anybody out there able to help me out?
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport, which has a Heater problem.
The Resistor for the blower motor keeps on turning bright red (that is the resistor that controls the blower fan speed) and trips the Temp sensor in the Resistor Pak.
I replaced the Resistor pak, but no luck. Then I replaced the heater switch, still no luck. Finally I changed the Blower Motor. Still no luck.
The resistor Pak just keeps on turning red hot, near the melting point.
It seems, somewhere along the way Heater motor is just drawing too much current. Having changed just about everything that could cause an excess current drain, I'm totally puzzled.
Anybody have any suggestions? By the way, I don't have AC.
Thanks,
alex7
