Talking 2000 impala help ?????????????

I love my impala to death however I have a couple issues I need help with.

1). Every so often when I first start my car and try to move it is like the brakes are partly on ? After speeding up it eventually corrects itself.

2). I have to turn the key in the ignition to ACC and have the security light come on and then fully start the car otherwise the ABS and Traction Control Off light stay on.

I had the braking system double checked at a place other than my dealer and they said the brakes looked brand new and everything was fully funtioning.

I know the 6th cynlinder in the car the timing is off so the dealer is doing a complete tune-up for me at no charge- could the timing be causing the brake like affect ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Brakes partly on my 2003 as well

Having the same issue with the brakes on my 2003. Dealer saying it is fluid contamination and needs to replace the entire system for $3000 dollars. Did you resolve your problem. Was it the abs module?

is you car new and did you rfecently have the brakes changed some times it takes a little while for the rotors to wear down the pads enough some times its rust between the pads and the rotor give it a few weeks if it's still doing it get it looked at again also there are some things you can do to burnish in new brakes but here's a tip go out to a empty parking lot ( at night ) from 50 mph apply brakes till say 20 mph coast for a few min's not touching the brakes and repeat 3 or 4 times every time going a little faster it your finding that they are still sticking after sitting for long periods havd them adjusted could be you're Ebrake cable is seized try holding the brakes slighlty in reverse and apply gas back up 20 feet or so just holding the brakes every so slightly this might also help to wear in pads a little or in reverse 5 mph hit the brakes to self adjust used to do that in my truck all the time

hope it works for you
let me know

brakes have nothing to do with a timing problem in an engine.
