CO2 System

Hey i have a 99 prelude and i jus been thinkin about how to get cooler air from my intake to my engine. I play paintball alot and have a CO2 tank as well as a braided CO2 hose that goes from my gun to my tank. This is the hose http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...680664597&rd=1 I was jus thinkin about running the hose in my intake and leaving the bottle in the car where i can get to it, and when i get ready to race or something screw the tap in on the hose which causes it to spray out of the hose thus really cooling the air going into my engine, what do you all think? CO2 is really really cold, made my hands go numb and also its alot cheaper to get refilled than nitrous although it wouldn't last very long at all. I would think that it shouldn't be too hard on the engine since it would only be goin thru the intake. Let me know what you think.

Does it burn? You would think if this worked, someone would have tried it by now? I don't really know if it's a good idea to inject this into your intake stream, but maybe rather shoot it at the outside of the intake piping, cooling it similar to an intercooler, thus making the air more dense.

ok, i've looked into this very deeply in the past. first of all it's not whether it burns or how it burns, that has nothing to do with it. no2 and co2 does not burn, contrary to what some people think. it actually supplies a large boost of air to the motor, causing it to rev higher, much faster. they do make intake no2 systems, altough i am not sure of co2. the problem either way, is that you have to regulate it. if the air to fuel ratio is not regulated, you will not see the gains you expect, and will cause a lot of harm to you're motor. when more air is added, it will alow more fuel to burn, but if the fuel isn't there to match the air, there will be major problems.

yeh i have definitely seen a CO2 system advertised in a sport compact magazine if i can find it i will post it. I dont know if CO2 burns or not but i have heard of ppl spraying CO2 into their intercoolers so i guess its safe for that. if nothing else i could jus spray it one the filter but only problem with that is it is cold enough to freeze the filter up to not let any air through for a time. Anyway im going to try this thursday and i'll let you know how it goes and if anybody has any other good input let me know.

just keep in mind how much a new motor costs... i would do it the proven right way, before trying to save a buck and possibly ruining something. that's just my two cents. but if you do plan on trying this, please do let us know how it turns out. i'm sceptical, but interested non the less.
