Check the car out for yourself. Examine anything you can think of, go from bumper to bumper seeing for any scratces, chips, rust. Then turn it on, make sure its running well

All I can think of for now

Well if you are really considering getting the car then ask the guy if you and him can go down to a mechanic you like and have them do a complete run through. Thats what my dad does before he buys any car. Trust me its worth the money and effort, its saved us from buying some real lemons.

A couple of things to look for, is if there is any fluids that have dripped on the ground where he parks the car. Make sure you start the car after the engined has cooled off. You'll get a better idea if there are any oil leaks or the lifters are clogged (not to big a deal, really). If you have a lot of smoke on ignition, you'll see the problem. If you hear a lot of tapping, you know the lifters are clogged and might be able to haggle the price down a few hundred.

Drive the car and shift hard up and down the line. Any grinding thats not caused by a bad shift will let you know that the syncros are getting worn. Press every button. Turn every knob. Flip every switch. If everything works, then that price isn't to bad.
