question about tires
okay, i currently have firehawk 245-50r16 on my Ta right now dunno if its stock or not, but i have about 65 % tread on them but there cracking so im going to smoke the tires off and get new ones , but i want a bit lower profile so what are the numbers that i can go for? and what are good tires? thanks!

Any time you go lower profile, without getting a bigger rim, your gonna throw your speedo out..
Go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html And play around a bit, it'l tell you what tires you can use and how much your speedo will be out

Its not going to be out by that much is you just step the profile down a little bit.

I compared it to some manuals at a tire shop, if it isnt accurate itd be pretty damn close

there really is only 2 choices for a lower profile you are going to get when keeping the 16" rim unless you goto a skinnier tire. here are your 4 tire choices without going to a skinnier tire.
here are your choices: 245/50-16 STOCK, 122.5mm tall sidewall 245/45-16 110.25mm tall sidewall 255/50-16 127.5mm tall sidewall 265/45-16 119.25mm sidewall 265/50-16 132.5mm tall sidewall
