My radio works on ACC but wont turn on when I turn the car on
I have had this problem with my old reciever and my new one. When I put my new one in I had no problem with it, and it just started doing this again. Its not just the radio though, its also the AC, heat and the other controls in the center console. I think it might be the ground, but im not sure.

Re: My radio works on ACC but wont turn on when I turn the car on
If it works with the car in accessory and not while running I would say its your ignition switch. WHat kind of car year etc. I know most older hondas (not sure about the newer ones) had the electrical section of the ignition able to be removed and replaced without changint the entire ignition. As your Key rotates the lock in the ignition it turns a rotary switch at the end of it which supplys a power conection, I suspect your problem is there.

Re: My radio works on ACC but wont turn on when I turn the car on
Its an 89, Civic Sedan. Could I remove this rotary switch myself or would it be better to let someone else do it? If it is possible for me to do this where could I get more info on how to do this? Thanks for the info.

I dont know where you can find more info on it... maybe in chiltons, the first time I did mine was on my old 87 CRX si on the side of the road with a screwdriver I had in my glove box... it realy wasnt that difficult, I think maybe one screw on the back of it in the center or something.
